The Rewards of Fostering! Trooper is Home!

Below are updates from Connie. Mister Trooper's new mom!
I am sure when Lisa read this report there were tears of joy flowing freely,....
I know they are here, as I attempt to update Mister Trooper's story,...

6.20.06: Good morning Lisa. I think we had a mini breakthrough this morning. Trooper came right out of the kennel to go to the bathroom this morning then instead of going right back in after our walk he would go in and out of the kennel and sniff around the house, circled the dining room table but then would come and stand by me to be petted. He did this for about an hour which is better than just going into the kennel and hiding. Have a good day. Connie

6.23.06: You would be so proud of him. He will come out of his kennel on his own and circles around the house then comes over by me and stands there to get petted, he will even nudge my hand if I'm not paying attention. He grabbed one of Maise's toys this am and took it to his kennel, of course she went right back in to get it. Then he kind of chased her around the table with the toy. He still has issues in the backyard going to the bathroom, he looks like he is going to go then gets startled by something and stops so some potty breaks take awhile. He came out of the kennel on his own to go for a walk. Still gets scared of some of the sounds but walks better and even pointed(?) at a chipmunk then tried to chase it. Doesn't always eat his food in the kitchen but I think he gets scared of Maise because she watches him and he runs for the kennel but he is getting better about it. Yesterday he got away from me on one of their walks and ran from me but he actually ran down the street, turned onto my street and turned into the driveway and went into the backyard and circles the patio table until Maise and I showed up. I really wondered if he knew where he lived and now I know he knows where his house is.

I'm Comin, Momma!!

Lisa says goodbye to Trooper,....as always, it is bittersweet to see a foster go to their fur-ever home.
Knowing that Trooper will live a wonderful life, in a loving home is what keeps us going.
As you return home, the saddness of their absence is replaced by the urgency of another bird dog who is in desperate need of our help.
Lord knows there are many, praying for the miracle of rescue.

Faded Memories

Mister bares the horrible brunt of that mountain, but his offspring (this time) will not have to endure any of it. They deserve to go into the best hands for the rest of their lives, and have a whole world of dogizm & socialibility opened up to them!

Aren't They Beautiful!?

You have NO IDEA, how much those puppies faces and "spots" resemble Mister! It makes me SMILE SO BIG to see the babies. If anyone (besides us) really knew how truely lucky those pups are to be alive, out of that nightmare, into a MIRACLE.

I Swear I Could Hear ,......

I swear ,at night I could hear my friends and family, calling to me, across the miles,.....But I must have been dreaming,

I missed Ashley,....

A couple of Months after we arrived in Illinois, we found out that Ashley was going to be a Mommy,....
she gave birth to six beautiful puppies, who will all live the good life,.. Thanks to many wonderful people,..

Ashley and I

This is my friend Ashley, we were lucky enough to have made it off that mountain together,..
many of our frieds and family were missing,..

they had dissapeared in different directions with different humans,..

Somehow, Ashley and I managed to find, some time to ourselves, and made a pact that would always hold us together, no matter how many miles came between us.

Although my new home is very nice and I have other friends to play with, and keep me company,.. it's just not the same

It All started in February,...

On a cold afternoon in February, we noticed a human, walking near our home,....
He wasn't the one that dumped our food,.....he didn't even stay very long,....

The next day there were many humans, and they were gathering all of us together and taking us away,..it was very scary, our entire pack was being seperated.
My friends and family were dissapearing,...

As sad as it may seem,.. this was our home,...our only home,...

I'm Trooper,...

I'm Trooper, or sometimes they call me Mister, or sometimes Romeo?
I am lucky enough to be one of the 60 Bird dogs that were rescued from a terrible place down in Arkansas.
Want to hear something kind of funny?
At the time, none of us really thought it was that bad,....
it was our home,....
If you have a moment I would like to share my story with you ,....
